Another alternative to Hog Roast Devon!

Five Four Three Two One!

A very tasty Pork spare rib dish , the sauce has deep sweet and sour notes and is easy to make and impressive to see. Enough for 3 people with rice and some green leafy type stir fried vegetables.

1.5 pounds of meaty spareribs. Get your butcher to chop each rib into 3 parts.

Simmering sauce
5 tablespoons of water
4 tablespoons of sugar
3 tablespoons of cider vinegar
2 tablespoons of dark soy sauce
1 tablespoon of dry sherry
A tablespoon is about 15 ml

Put ribs in non stick pan with all the simmering ingredients and place on a high heat. Stir to mingle together and when it comes to a boil turn the heat right down to a gentle simmer, put a lid on the pan. Turn the ribs from time to time and simmer for about 35 mins.

When tender uncover and turn up the heat until the sauce is a sizzling boil and has nearly all evaporated but still clings to the meat. Serve with rice and greens, don’t forget the napkins, you will need them!
